Events coming up in Flitton and Greenfield

On 11th August there is an informal lunch at The Vicarage in Silsoe to bid farewell to Rev Dave and Kath. Everyone is invited and if you are attending, please can you let Margaret Butt know so we have a rough idea of how many to cater for.
Cream Teas in Flitton Church Hall. Sunday September 1st   2-4 pm. The De Grey Mausoleum will be open 2-4pm as well.  Delicious teas and a bric a brac stall.
Book of baking recipes. We are putting together a book of baking recipes - sweet, savoury, anything as long as it is baked. We can't do this without your contributions because we would like to include the stories behind the recipes and make it into a special book for our villages. So if you would like to see your favourite family recipe in print, please send your recipe, the story behind it, and if possible a picture, to Kate at
Don't forget the village Gala this year is on September 21st.  There will be some kind of church stall - not sure what at the moment, but please come along and support us.

Sunday 6th October is the Harvest Festival in church at 11 am. Please bring your gifts of produce, flowers or groceries. Homemade cakes, jams, chutneys and pickles are always welcome too. We will be decorating the church on Saturday 5th in the morning so you can bring your gifts then or leave them in the church porch. As usual we will be supporting our local Food Bank so tins and dried goods will go there.

Monday October 7th is the Harvest Supper which is at 7.30 pm in the Church Hall. Tickets are £12.50 for a 3-course supper followed by an auction of all the Harvest produce and gifts. Contact Jo Holt for tickets.
